Brenda Maxfield writes novels for young adults. As a high school teacher, she spends most of her waking hours with teenagers. She enjoys getting to know them, as well as hearing their views on love and life.
Brenda started writing as a child, stories of fairy princesses and talking animals. She has since set aside the talking animals, writing instead about young people, their problems and triumphs—and always with a dose of romance to complicate the issue.
Brenda has lived in Honduras, Grand Cayman, and Costa Rica. Presently, she lives in Indiana with her husband. They have two adult children. They eagerly await the arrival of their first grandbaby from Africa.
When not writing or teaching, Brenda can often be found at her lake cabin with a book in her hand and her little dog Lucy on her lap.
